I left XP because of the end of support, joining Win7, only to see the jump to 8, 8.1, then 10! The problem I have is that the updates download but do not automatically install. Waiting a week allows time for problem updates to be reported to M$, then M$ to pull the problem update, fix it, and reintroduce it later. You want Windows Update to install those updates for you automatically.
I just spent 3000$ on a gaming PC and deeply regret not buying console instead, windows 10 is a nightmare. You can choose what you want to do with optional updates in your Windows Update settings, and you could have Windows only install critical security updates. I Google and find that others are having the same problem so I wait a couple of days for MS to reissue the update. Windows 7 Update Whatever update went out last night restarted my computer without my permission overnight. If you are referring to my post, you need to read it again, this time with your eyes and mind open. Sometimes my data connectivity while I am chasing is already marginal (or nonexistant), and I cannot risk any surprises like that.
