but the sounds was only coming through the hdmi monitor… this fixed it for me. I thought I was going to have to take it in for repair. I just had to do the uninstall portion and my speakers are working again. I set up 2 other monitors with no luck.

did you manage to make yours work? I am remote deskoping to my computer. Several IT guys have worked on it, and I have spent many entire days of my life trying to get the sound back.
