Now, I know that simply leaving PS_On grounded all the time isn't really safe to do if I have devices connected. Now, (after turning your power supply back on,) touch the head of the screwdriver to the pins marked PWR+ and PWR- at the same time. However, there is no reason you cannot just leave PS_ON grounded all the time. Then connect your red lead to the PSU On signal on pin 14 which has a green wire going to it.
I wanted the ability to let our software determine when to shut down the computer, based on whether it was done downloading email or software from the house when the driver which BIOS version are you using? I did the following:
- PSON (Green) -> Ground (Black)
- 3.3VDCS (Brown) -> 3.3v Rail (Orange)
- Blue & Purple

Now that the PSU On signal is in the logic level 0 state, this provides the signal to the power supply to fully enable its primary or main power conversion circuit. SO--if the PSU does not power on in the unit, it could be an open wire to the front panel push button (most common) or it could be the ckt on CPU fan turning on and off.
