Talkmatic
What Is Talkmatic?
I have a new project I have been working on with my friend Tony Chung over at Geekwhat. The name of the site is Talkmatic, and the basic principle is simple: podcast interviews with interesting people in the tech industry. So far Tony has interviewed Seth Sternberg (co-founder) from Meebo, a web-based chat program which I happen to use all the time. It was Tony’s first interview but in my opinion, he did very well. He kept the conversation quick and interesting. One thing he thought about doing is having more controversial questions instead of the lighter material he had be asking.
How I Have Been Helping
I have a more behind-the-scenes part in this operation. I have helped Tony monetize his site, as well as some backend stuff. We did a little redesign last night, to make the width of the site larger so ads wouldn’t be taking up the whole screen. We have also discussed putting more content on the site so it’s not just all audio. I was thinking maybe have a page with the transcript of the interview, or possibly a bio of the person being interviewed. Both of these options would increase the value of the site.
In addition to this, I was also able to setup the second interview for Talkmatic. This interview will be released either late tonight or early tomorrow, but I can’t say who it is quite yet. Ill give a little hint, he or she has been mentioned on this blog many times.
Looking Forward
I am very excited about this project, because it has some real potential to become big. Not only that, but I really like the idea and think these interviews can help people such as myself understand what needs to be done to become successful in this industry. These interviews will be with people who have made a mark on the Internet world, and we are lucky that they are willing to share their knowledge with all of us. I will give another update when we launch the second interview, so stay tuned!
