I pray this works since we have all our pictures, music, videos, etc. EXTREMELY bummed...so I Googled and found this blog/thread.I checked my PS for sound, and sure enough it's making a strange buzzing noise...and the system it's plugged into keeps doing the "insert/eject/insert/eject" I changed to another power adapter from a 2nd LacieDisk, and voila!!!You saved my disk :) Thanks!!

Two of them described what was happening to my drive perfectly. Restoring the previous version of thunar, or manually creating the file returns the missing functionality.
