Comment “Thank You” Annoying?

I was just speaking with one of my readers and he mentioned that my comment relish plugin was emailing him every single time he left a comment.
Basically, the comment relish plugin emails people a “thank you” after they have left a comment. It is used to increase RSS readership because it includes links to my RSS feeds. Since it emails people every single time I can see how it would be annoying.
That being said, is it annoying enough for me to remove the plugin? Unfortunately there is no way to change the settings to make it email only new visitors, or only first comments, so it’s either on or off. What does everyone think? Leave it or kill it?

I remember reading some tips about building readership and popularity when I first got started. One of the tips was to be sure to thank new commenters.
That being said, I personally would find it annoying to get a thank you email after every comment. Think about it, what if I leave comments daily on 5 or 10 blogs with the relish plugin, thats a lot of extra bs in my inbox each day that I have to weed through.

If the designer would just update the plugin so that it only emailed new commenters and only once, the plugin would be outstanding.
Personally it doesn’t bother me because I use a alternative email. But I can see how it can get aggravating if I used my main email account.

Is there an option for your to reply to the blog comments with the plug-in? I follow and am a frequent commenter on a few blogs that notify the blogger of my comment, and allow them to reply with a general thank you, as well as specific answers to my questions/ comments.
If you can’t or don’t want to do that- maybe poll your readers?
