Use passive cooling on Northbridge (Zalman), and the FANTASTIC Zalman passive heatsink on the the video card. this is why your cards are crashing out!!!. Not only was it bad performance, but often the machine would completely lockup and I'd have to manually reset it. No, create an account now.

it is much appreciated! I had to change my motherboard to the gigabyte 8knxp 875p. can anyone confirm or deny this claim that heat is the problem? Join thousands of tech enthusiasts and participate.

granted, some games crashed after an hour, but at least it was a noticable improvement. i will soon consider buying a Vantec Iceberq 4. on a P4 2.5 GHZ, Gig ram..blah blah blah It seems that somewhere along the way, my I'ved developed a problem with dropping framerates. That's a good card, even if its old.

Games would crash every time. Ripped that out and have not had one crash in 40 hrs of play.
