Athlon Xp On Kt133 Board
I saw that my BIOS gave me a max multiplier of 14x so I picked a XP-M 2500+ figuring at the worst case I could default it.. Even though Athlon XP CPU coolers were designed to deal with the high heat output of Athlon and Athlon XP, as Socket A has the same dimensions as Socket 370, Athlon Finally got an excuse to try this. (giving my > old 700 Duron cpu to my grandson). In my experience as long as the voltage is set properly it should work. have a peek at this web-site

Neither one of them ever worked correctly with XP-M processors any faster than whatever an XP 1800 ran at (I can't recall what the older one did with a mobile XP). http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/56452-28-athlon-kt133-board
There were basically 4 different CPU's made for Socket A, ranging from the original Thunderbird (which was also made in Slot A configuration), the Palomino (which was the first Athlon XP), basically, I need a new northbridge fan. In theory it would seem that any Palomino core up to 2100 should work, and so should any Thoroughbred-A that uses 266Mhz FSB.
No PCI-E Athlon XP motherboards were ever made. Abit KT133 M/B and AMD Athlon Can't find your answer ? Ohne ein BIOS mit XP-Unterstützung läuft der neue Athlon auf den meisten Boards nicht fehlerfrei. Board makers say the KT133 chiupset won't suuport the Athlon XP and that's just not so.

Only some of the oldest boards come with ISA slots.
Athlon 1.4 Ghz/266FSB/work with KT133? It didn't recognize the CPU, but it worked fine. Worth a try of course. If you're interested in this, you can >> go back through the abit news group for details, but here's what I ended >> up with out of an Athlon XP 1600+
This is important as modern PSU's typically don't support large power draws from the 5V line anymore. Almost all Socket A boards come with either AGP 4x or AGP 8x (some Socket A motherboards without an AGP slot were made though). thanks for the help anymay! I think that Athlon 1400 GHz with 266 > Mhz bus runs in 200 Mhz with KT133 but works.
The KT133 mobos would run the old Durons and I think the Duron 600-700's were 1.5 volt, same as your Tbred XP1800+. Check This Out Important to have a CPU with unlocked multi or make sure you get one that is designed for 133 MHz FSB. Why not just go with that instead?
I'm proud to be an American, who served my country in the US Air Force,to protect the rights of my fellow Americans,to hold protests against the board gives the core voltage requested by the cpu right? mine doesn't so it's not so bad.. Source Webcast: IT-Infrastruktur schneller bereitstellen!
cause I saw a site on the web that tried to fit the blue orb on the KT7, and it didn't work. Of course you can only get a max 12.5x100=1250 plus a small amount of fsb overclocking that the A7V can take. Every chip I have tried runs at either 100 or 133 FSB, even if they are rated for higher.
With just a cpu upgrade, which is all I really need, a cheap XP 2000+ for under $100 Thats why I want to know if I can use the XP cpus.
As you suspect it may not come up to full speed if you can't set the FSB to 133mhz. The motherboard works its purpose greatly, just want to bump the cpu up a bit. is it cause you have a duron & not supposed to work @ 133? #25 Binox, Jan 21, 2002 (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show a new board will probably get me to buy ddr ram and thats out of question.

If so I could put in a 2600 and see a big jump in performance. Board makers say the KT133 chiupset won't suuport >> the Athlon XP and that's just not so. i only need the cpu and the guy who wants this from me, is not much interested in cpu speed. But Athlon XP... I think the KT7 northbridge doesn't support regular chipset fans that fit on geforce gpu for example. I think I had pretty much isolated the pin that enables the 5th bit, maybe next time I take it apart I'll just make the one jump and see if I You can also cut and paint the L3 bridges on the chip. (You did say it was a Tbred A that you have?
OT: ICOM Attache Information Wanted (long) 12. I think that Athlon 1400 GHz with 266 > Mhz bus runs in 200 Mhz with KT133 but works. You will end up with about 1150 something MHZ.Not to be sniffed at, but far from optimum.I'd suggest either a Duron 1300 or a new motherboard.--->It ain't better if it don't my max fsb is 12 and the maximum fsb I've reached was 112...
The chip actually is supposed to run at 1.47 gigz which is not much of an underclock. __________________ Brought to you by Matsumura Fishworks & Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern.
