Adding a Facebook “Like” Button To Your Blog
![]()
As you can see, I have added a simple Facebook “like” button to my blog on article pages. It’s a very easy way for people to share articles they like and also helps drive more traffic to your sites. Since it seems most people have Facebook accounts now-a-days, there should be plenty of users on blogs liking things. Best part is, it’s really easy to add to your blog too. Here is the code:
<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=<?php the_permalink()?>&layout=standard&show_faces=true&width=450&action=like&colorscheme=light" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:530px; height:60px"></iframe>
Simply add this on your single.php page anywhere you like. You can change the parameters to customize the link button however you want. I think this is an awesome little trick and will drive more traffic than any of those “share” buttons on most blogs (including mine).

Nice. Added it to ProMovieBlogger a few days ago.
yea i’m already getting people “liking” posts on this blog and my other blogs I installed it on.
I added it at the bottom of my posts. I want to keep all the social networks together. I might put it in the main index for posts though. Digg Digg is a good plugin for that.
i actually think it’s already help promote some of my pages….i’m not sure how but this page:
http://internetbusinessdaily.net/hilarious-episode-of-family-guy/
already has 72 “likes”….it got like 70 overnight and then hasn’t had much more since…very odd.
77 now. The Family Guy is a very popular show. Lots of people like it.
yea, it got 70 likes right away…not sure how…and now they are trickling in…great show though
Thanks for this code Matt. I’ve been “meaning” to get around to it but when I saw it on here I knew I just had to do it. Put it on my blog and works like a charm.
Now, just got to see how many likes I get.
