Transformers 2 Barricade Pics - 2008 Ford Mustang Saleen

UPDATE: These ARE the Ford Mustangs from the new Transformers 2 movie. It’s clear by the Decepticon logo on the side:p. It is now obvious that Michael Bay has begun filming of Transformers 2, the sequel to the mega hit Transformers.
I was just driving around Culver City today and spotted three Ford Mustang Saleens sitting on a flat bed truck. Usually, I would have not gone through so much trouble to snap a couple pictures, but in this case they were police car editions. I’m sure the people behind me enjoyed my swerving back and forth while I tried to snap a focused picture with my iPhone:).
I couldn’t get close enough to tell if they were for a movie or actual oinker-mobiles, but if they were I wouldn’t want to be chased by those. Regardless, these were amazing vehicles so check them out:

As if the decepticon symbol on the side wasn’t a big enough clue (;

I would also suggest looking at the decepticon logo printed in right in the middle of all of those cars and probably make a pretty good assumption that those are indeed Transformer Movie cars…DUR!

There’s no doubt “they are Barricade”!!!In the last two photos we can see that phrase, “…to punish and enslave”!!!

[...] I’ve been keeping my ear to the ground as far as Transformers 2 goes, and I haven’t been able to find out whether the script is ready to go nor has any of the plot been revealed (which doesn’t surprise me). Shooting is set to commence on June 2nd, which is pretty quick considering the Writers have only been back for a short time. His Bayness completed a 60 page outline of the story which is serving as a template for the sequel. He is absolutely committed to getting this picture out on June 26, 2009. That was all I knew until earlier this afternoon when a keen denizen of the Interweb spotted a flatbed with several Saleen Mustands decked out as Barricade have been spotted in Culver City. [...]

I was really disappointed in the car chases in Transformers and how little the vehicles were fully utilized. The hover bike scene in The Island beats all of them. I love Mustangs by the way. I would love to own a 5.0 Liter, V-8 Saleen Mustang. If you’re ever giving one away Matthew, let me know. You could call the contest: “Don’t bother entering, its going to Reginald.”

if you watch the movie, you think he’s dead, but you see him again in the freeway chase. unfortunately, after that he mysteriously dissappears from the rest of the movie.

[...] Â Â It seems these cars will be used for Transformers 2, especially since we know that filming is set to begin in early June. We never got to see what happened to Barricade in the first Transformers movie. He’s on the freeway with bonecrusher, chasing the All Spark, and then we don’t see him again for the rest of the movie. In the novel version of the Transformers movie, Barricade is killed by Optimus Prime, right after Bonecrusher. This did not happen in the film. Michael Bay had said that one of his favorite Decepticons was Barricade, so maybe he did not want to get rid of him yet. I also love Barricade, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing him in the sequel.
